Black Market Trio delights party-goers at Randy Sprecher's Birthday Party!

Several guests of Randy Sprecher, who turned 65 last Saturday, commented how they enjoyed the variety of selections, and the precise playing of Black Market Trio at this fun and highly enjoyable birthday party in the Pismo Heights. Sprecher, famous for Sprecher Brewing (fabulous microbrew ales, rootbeer, sauces, chips, and more), is a big jazz fan and we were thrilled to become new friends and help Randy celebrate with his guests!

Cops shut down Black Market Trio?

Can you believe it? The police showed up at our performance Friday night and literally "pulled the plug" on our music during our performance of "Night in Tunisia" at Ian Saude Gallery. This is a first for Black Market Trio. Normally, associated with class, polish, and a bit of naughtiness, but still, people were loving the music when this happened. One of our fans commented "this should never happen to you.... it's just wrong!"

Ask us if you think the "noise ordinance" in SLO is excessive. We believe it is. Street music is what makes a town alive. If you cannot play on the street - yes, amplified - then where is the SOUL of the city? We are grateful for all of our fans who came out to hear Black Market Trio on Thursday and Friday this week!

On a more positive note, part of our performance at Palazzo Guiseppe on "Exotica Thursday" was recorded and is now posted in our "VIDEOS" tab.

The Big Laugh Opens With Black Market Trio

The Big Laugh Opens With Black Market Trio

The Big Laugh (www.TheBigLaugh.net) is a local comedy show produced by Lizette Mizelle (a funny comedian as well), a resident of Paso Robles, CA.

This year, The Big Laugh was bigger than ever - with over 500 people at a SELLOUT show!

Black Market Trio opened the show with a mixture of funk, jazz, and latin-jazz songs much to the pleasure of the crowd while everyone got their drinks and found their seats. When Scott Andrews, leader of Black Market Trio, hollered out "who wants to hear one more?" One woman yelled back, "We don't one ONE more we want THREE more!" So, three more it was! Everyone got their drinks, took their seats (including the trio), and got ready to laugh.

What an absolutely splendid show. The comedians were insanely funny. In fact, I laughed so hard my gut almost split open! Headlining comedians included Lizette Mizelle, Marc Yaffe, Katsy Chappell, Mike E. Winfield, Mark Pitta, and Jen Kober closed the show.

From the back row, as one looked over the crowd, the spectacle was incredible: a packed-out event center and everyone laughing so hard! We truly cannot wait for the next one!!!
