Latin Jazz - New Orleans - Funk - Hip Hop - Bossa Trio (now also avail as Quintet)

Black Market Trio is San Luis Obispo County's Premiere Latin Jazz and New Orleans jazz band who performs in both Trio and Quintet formats, depending upon need. Black Market Trio is performing for live music events throughout the United States and is expanding our reach with a CALI to NOLA tour in 2019. The band performed in DESTINATION WEDDING a feature film starring Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves, released August 31, 2018 and is selling out venues across the Central Coast on a frequent basis. Click on some of the videos below to get an idea what we do when we have special guests, as well as the trio, such as our show at Hearst Castle where we performed for a VIP party where each person paid $1,000 to attend - they loved us and book us back every year. Costa de Oro wine down this Friday

This Friday - Black Market Trio returns to Costa de Oro for a fun evening of MAMBO! Of course, we'll also play Latin Jazz, some boogaloo, New Orleans music, and funk to get everyone dancing before the night is done. CDO is always a great place to drink wine, the food is yummy, and some of our favorite people often attend.

Bring a group of friends and come out for the fun!

Saturday we're playing a birthday party for one of our fans in Lompoc. Remember we are available for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, heck, even divorces! I'm sure we could do the jazz funeral if you needed it -- and break loose into 2nd line for a jazz celebration of life. We're pretty flexible. We also do Mardi Gras parties, "Speakeasy" or "Crime Jazz" shows, and "Havana nights" types of parties.

We've added more shows to our calendar, but of course have room for more. If you own a restaurant, winery, bar, or nightclub, consider booking Black Market Trio as a residency - we can perform regularly at your business to help you build your following. We have a great satisfaction rate amongs our clients and strong testimonials at our website, and at GigSalad where we often get booked for shows. Contact us at blackmarkettrio @ for more details.

We also perform at "Jazz Brunch" again in July - make sure to invite friends!

There's also a chance for our North County friends to see us on July 16th up in Paso - we return for a show at Lefondusac and will bringing a variety of Latin Jazz, New Orleans, and Funk to the winery - last time was a party, we're sure this will be special, as well! Bring family, friends - heck, bring complete strangers!

Black Market Trio has several new shows dialed up for you!

We have several new shows for the month of June. After blazing a trail through Kelsey See Canyon last weekend, we're thrilled to be at TapIt Brewery this coming Friday, June 2nd, for Mambo Friday at TapIt - bring a group of friends!

Tonight! Join the fun from 5:30P - 8:30P at TapIt Brewery - Black Market Trio is breaking out some new New Orleans music! Fun & funky! Plus, our regular hit Mambo, Boogaloo, Latin Jazz, and other fun music - bring a group of friends!

Then SATURDAY, June 3rd, Black Market Trio plays the classic and timeless Merrimaker for a late night show. This is a chance to let the air out as we'll start jazzy but break into funky boogaloo and funk numbers as the night carries on. We'll aim to get your dancing as much as possible, so after your dinner, when you're saying "where is there something fun with great music tonight?" you'll know where to go! The Merrimaker in Los Osos!

That's not all - we also have a show scheduled on June 11th at Lefondusac Winery. Our last show there on Mother's Day was a total blast, so don't miss this Sunday afternoon special.

Black Market Trio performs April 29 for Art at the Spectrum

There's a wonderful gala event happening at the SLO Museum of Art on April 29.

Please join us for an elegant & engaging evening
celebrating originality through the medium of the arts!

Our first Annual "Art on the Spectrum" Gala & Sensory
Experience aims to showcase the artistic talent of 17
students on the Autism Spectrum who have worked tirelessly
to complete a 5- week workshop led by local oil painter
SYDNEY HALL. This workshop was held at the SLO Art Museum
(SLOMA) and highlights the students ability rather than
disability. Black Market Trio will be performing music live at this
fine event.

As a cooperative effort between the the Central Coast Autism
Spectrum Center (CCASC), the SLOMA, and Catlayst Consulting
a portion of the proceeds generated from Art and ticket
sales will be contributing to the SLO Art Musuems Capital
Campaign for a new building as well as for CCASC to fund
additional programming, events, & awareness for those on
the Spectrum. Tickets can be purchased as an in kind
donation to the event and efforts.

This event will kick off the Annual WALK for Autism &
Awareness Fair May 7th in the Mission Plaza.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Mambo Santa!

Mambo Santa! Tonight at Adelina's Bistro with Black Market Trio! We'll add in a few holiday season cheer numbers and of course play a mix of exotica, mambo, salsa, and latin-jazz favorites. Bring your friends and enjoy a couple of cocktails in the fireside lounge!

Tonight features Joe Duran on bass and Sean Sullivan on congas!

With an unusual instrumentation of sax, congas/bongo kit, and bass, Black Market Trio covers a range of material from Ellington (Harlem Nocturne, In A Sentimental Mood), cool jazz of the 50's (Eighty-One, Tom Thumb) through Exotica & Bossa Nova (Lust, Girl From Ipanema, Desafinado, Corcovado, Mas Que Nada, etc.) and cocktail era (Fever, The Look of Love), and more recently have covered the Mambo craze (Tito Puente) and Boogaloo (Joe Loco) to the present, with their own original funk jazz songs (Lizard People, Give Some to Get Some).

Black Market Trio plays clubs, shows, festivals, and parties from Santa Maria and Orcutt through Nipomo, Arroyo Grande Valley, Grover Beach, Pismo Beach, Avila, San Luis Obispo, Templeton, Atascadero, and Paso Robles.
